The Renters Rights Bill on hold… Again!

Date Published 16 September 2025

Hi, Sarah here 👋
Just when we thought things might start moving with the Renter's Rights Bill, Parliament has pressed pause once more. MPs have barely returned from their summer holidays, and now they're off again for the party conference break.

Here's the timeline:

The House of Commons wrapped up business on 16th September 2025 and won't be back until 13th October.
2025
The House of Lords follows suit, from 19th September to 13th October 2025.

What does this mean?
Well, the Bill can't move forward until both the Commons and the Lords have agreed on the final version. Only then can it become law (after Royal Assent).

But with these breaks, everything is on hold — again.

So for now, landlords in Poole and tenants are left waiting… watching… and wondering what the final shape of the new rental rules will actually look like.

Don't worry though — as soon as anything concrete happens, Shaun and I will keep you posted.

In the meantime, if you've got questions about what the Bill could mean for you as a Poole landlord, just give us a shout. We're here to help you stay one step ahead.
